Lando Norris achieved his first Formula 1 Grand Prix win on Sunday at the Miami Grand Prix. The McLaren driver became the 21st British driver to win a Grand Prix. This now means all three British drivers on the grid, including Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, who both drive for Mercedes, have now won a race. Here is a list of all the British drivers who have won a F1 Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton still holds the record as the British driver with the most race wins (103), which is more than three times as many as Nigel Mansell who places second, winning 31 races between 1980 and 1995. However, Hamilton has not won a race since 2021.

World champions Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark and Damon Hill have won 27, 25 and 22 races respectively. Sir Stirling Moss (16), Jenson Button (15), Graham Hill (15), David Coulthard (13) and James Hunt (10) all sit within double figures. Graham Hill and Damon Hill were the first father and son to both win world titles.

Tony Brooks and John Surtees both won six grand prixs, followed by John Watson who won five, Eddie Irvine who won four, and then three each for Mike Hawthorn, Peter Collins and Johnny Herbert.

Which British drivers have won only one race?

Norris joins Innes Ireland, Peter Gethin and Mercedes' George Russell, who have all won one race. Russell, who joined the grid with Norris in 2019, won his first race in 2022 in Sao Paulo and held the record for the most recent British win until Sunday.

For Norris, it took 15 podiums before he achieved his first race win in Miami. This record is also held by British driver Irvine. Moreover, it is also the first time since 2012 that the British team has won in the US, after Hamilton finished first in Austin.

In total, British drivers have won 309 races, leaving them at the top of the all-time list. This is followed by Germany (179) and Brazil (101).
