Stefano Domenicali wants the FIA to be as open as possible about the investigations surrounding the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. According to the CEO of Formula 1, the motorsport class is obliged to do so towards the fans, he reveals in an interview with Sky Sports.

At the end of the sweltering 2021 season, the race control of the Abu Dhabi GP made some notable decisions. It ensured that not Lewis Hamilton, but Max Verstappen won the world title. Especially with Mercedes and Hamilton, this caused a lot of anger, although other teams also thought that something had to change.

Domenicali wants to make reports public

The last three months there have been several investigations, with which the FIA tried to find out what had gone wrong. While some of the reports were made public, others remain secret for the time being. Domenicali hopes this will change soon, so that Formula 1 can restore confidence in the sport.

"I will attend the World Council next Saturday, and we will see," states Domenicali. "That is the aim to have a step forward to move forward from Abu Dhabi. We are already in Bahrain so there’s no need to talk with the different approach rather than to say what we learn as regulator from that last race."
