The Japanese Grand Prix has been won by Max Verstappen. The Red Bull driver finished ahead of teammate Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz. Charles Leclerc also had a good race in Suzuka. Who will be the GPblog Driver of the Day? Vote in the poll below and discuss in the comments.

Max Verstappen once again is a strong candidate, after he all, he managed to win the race comfortably. The two Ferrari drivers were also able to gain some positions in Japan, finishing in P3 and P4 behind the two Red Bull. Carlos Sainz managed to pull off some great overtakes, while Leclerc took advantage of the strategy and Ferrari's good race pace.

Yuki Tsunoda is the first Japanese to score points in his home race since 2012, and was also deserving of the point he has earned for Visa Cash App RB. The driver racing in his home GP also made some great moves in the "S-corners".

Two drivers who are unlikely to make it fell out early. Daniel Ricciardo, while Lance Stroll was driving on the inside and trying to pass Alexander Albon, hit the Williams car, resulting in both ending up in the tyre stacks at high speed. A red flag was waved almost immediately and the race was temporarily suspended. Fortunately, both drivers were able to leave the incident without injury.
