Hamilton RUINS F1 challenge during Grand Prix weekend in Australia
Lewis Hamilton cost Dude Perfect their challenge after the seven-time World Champion didn't give a high-five during the Australian Grand Prix weekend. The fun tongue-in-cheek game saw Cody Jones try to high-five all of the drivers in the paddock. It was quite a challenge, given that all drivers are in the zone for competing.
Valtteri Bottas started the challenge off smoothly with a crisp high-five. Sergio Perez proved to be a sticking point, but he eventually obliged to a high-five before Hamilton ignored the YouTuber. Hamilton's Mercedes teammate, George Russell, was also cautious about giving a high-five. The Brit said, "I need to stay hygienic," which is perhaps something that was also going through Hamilton's mind.
Hamilton has said on many occasions that he doesn't like being disturbed during his pre-race buildup. This method has worked for him during his (nearly) two decades in Formula 1 after becoming, statistically, the greatest driver of all time. The video with Dude Perfect is yet another example of Formula 1's growth within the United States and around the world.
The YouTubers, who describe themselves as 5 best buds just kickin' it, have 60 million followers on the platform. Their F1 video racked up well over 1 million views within 24 hours of going live.
