After a double Alpine podium at the Brazilian Grand Prix, things continue to look up for Pierre Gasly. He will start third on the grid for the Las Vegas Grand Prix tomorrow.
When asked how he left after the Las Vegas Qualifying, the Frenchman said he "didn't think we'd be able to achieve a top three in qualifying". He added that it felt "unbelievable" and that this was "the first time ever" for him.
Gasly gushes about his qualifying position
Gasly described how placing third felt after qualifying: "It was an incredible lap, flirting with the walls everywhere. A lot of adrenaline and excitement. I knew crossing the line was a good lap. But when they said on the radio that we're third...it's just amazing. I'm really happy."
He had an incredible session even though the weather was dropping while they were waiting for Q3. "I was getting cold in the car! We had to wait so long, I just wanted to get going. We managed to nail it. The car felt great, an incredible period for the team after the double podium in Brazil.".
