Max Verstappen and Lando Norris have shared an update on their friendship ahead of the 2025 season. 2024 saw the pair go from close friends to harshly racing each other in a battle for the Drivers Championship. While Verstappen was victorious in 2024 and earned his fourth world title, the fierce competition between the two will surely continue on into the new season.

Throughout the 2024 Formula One season, fans were treated to the fierce competition between Vestappen and Norris for race wins throughout the season. Speaking to GPblog and other media at the pre-season testing in Bahrain, the pair shared a status update on their friendship and their attitudes towards racing each other.

Initially Verstappen joked, "Yeah, it's a terrible relationship. Yep. We don't get on anymore. It's taken its toll. Big drama now. Yeah. Big problems."

Norris joined in with the jokes, indicating that the pair have been able to reapir their friendship. "We had a fight the other day in a local pub."

Norris: 'We both look forward to more of it'

Norris then responded more seriously, revealing that they are looking forward to the new season's battles. "It's fine. I think we both look forward to more of it. More more of, last year, more battles. I I don't think it's just gonna be us. I think there's gonna be others involved, which will make it more exciting for everyone. I know they're going to be tough battles and I'm sure some of them [are] not always going to end the way I want or hopefully Max wants, but, we're racing drivers. We get along, we've always said those kinds of things. I know everyone tries to make their own points and say what's correct and what's not correct. But, we respect each other a lot and we look forward to more racing on track."

When asked if he had more to add, Verstappen stated, "No. That's beautifully said."
