Norris looks at Ferrari: 'Currently a second slower than them'
Lando Norris cannot yet say too much about the performance of his new McLaren. The Brit said as much to media, including GPblog.
Norris: 'Ferrari a second quicker than McLaren'
The McLaren driver began: "[The car feels] good. Just nice to be back in the car. First of all, just driving again is always, is what we love to do. Right? So it's nice."
On the performance of the MCL39, Norris said, "[The] pace of the car, it's just difficult to tell. At the minute, we're one second off Ferrari," added Norris in a tongue-in-cheek comment. "If you look at just the time sheets, whatever one loves to do. So, we're just doing our own thing, learn about the cars, plenty of things we need to still learn about and test."
Norris in action on final day of testing in Bahrain
Norris was in action for McLaren on Thursday afternoon. On Friday morning, it will again be his turn to test the MCL39. Later in the day, he will have to hand the car over to his teammate, Oscar Piastri. For Max Verstappen, it will be a longer day of testing. The Dutchman will drive both the morning and afternoon sessions, after Liam Lawson had driven the RB21 all Thursday at the Bahrain International Circuit.
