Stroll expects 2020 to be a "clean slate" for Racing Point
Lawrence Stroll has revealed Racing Point have big aims for the 2020 season describing that as their “real start” with the team still adapting to life following his take over of Force India in 2018.
Sergio Perez is one of three drivers on 13 points for the season so far, leaving him in third place in the standings, whilst Lawrence’s son Lance has had a tougher start sitting P14 with four points. With an extremely controversial 2018, the team are still finding their feet under the new management.
Stroll Sr admitted he wasn’t expecting much from 2019, setting 2020 as their aim.
“The 2020 season will be our real start. We will soon start with a clean slate on our car for 2020,” Stroll said in an interview on motorsport.
“This year was always going to be a compromise, we cannot redraw the entire car.
"The boys were focused on the car of 2018 and did not know what 2019 would bring.
“We work with what we have and make updates, next year it will be a completely new car.
“The first Racing Point designed from scratch.”
