Five things to watch out for at the British Grand Prix!
The British Grand Prix will be underway soon, and at a track that so often produces brilliant racing, here's five things you should watch out for during the race!
Hamilton v Bottas at the start
So often in F1, the first corner of the race is the most crucial, and with Lewis Hamilton looking for a sixth home victory, he will be desperate to overtake polesitter and teammate Valtteri Bottas into turn one. One interesting thing to note is that in both F2 races this weekend, the driver in second has led into the first corner...
The final podium position
Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen may find themselves battling it out again after their brilliant fight for the win in Austria. However, this time it may only be for third place. Pierre Gasly has had a solid weekend so don't rule him out completely, and it will be intriguing to see what Sebastian Vettel can do from sixth on the grid.
The midfield battle
McLaren and Renault have dominated the midfield battle so far this season, and it looks set to be between those two teams once again, with Renault's Daniel Ricciardo and McLaren's Lando Norris qualifying seventh and eighth respectively. Alex Albon put his Toro Rosso in ninth in qualifying yesterday, so watch out for him as well.
The weather
Now, the forecast looks ok. But this is England, remember? There was a bit of drizzle during the F2 race earlier in the day and with clouds hanging around we could see a mid-race shake up!
Differing strategies
Ferrari and Red Bull will be starting on the soft tyres, leaning them towards a two stop, whilst Mercedes will be starting on the mediums, giving them more chance of a one-stop. Which will be quicker? Whatever the outcome, F1 is always more exciting with different strategies.
Enjoy the race!
