Sergio Pérez worked hard during the Styrian Grand Prix to secure a podium finish but ultimately failed to do so. The Mexican driver couldn't get any further than fourth place.

A few laps before the end of the race, Red Bull Racing decided to call Pérez in, hoping that he would be able to close the gap to Bottas at a fast pace. That didn't work out in the end, so fourth place was the best they could achieve. "I think this was the right thing to do," Pérez told Sky. "There were a lot of cars and we thought we could close the gap quickly, but unfortunately it didn't pay off."

Pérez still had to deal with a slow pit stop during the race, which meant he had to lose time. "Bit of a shame. That was the bad luck today with the slow stop. The guys have been incredible all year, but today it cost a bit. But we are a team, we will come back stronger."

Verstappen grabs P1

Max Verstappen managed to secure another victory. The Dutchman stayed full of Hamilton throughout the race and in this way drove convincingly first across the finish line.
