Verstappen treated unfairly
Speaking to Dutch media in Abu Dhabi, Verstappen did not have a good word to say about the decisions of the stewards in Saudi Arabia. "I think I race hard and I shouldn't have received a penalty for anything in Jeddah, " reports De Telegraaf. The Dutchman even feels he was treated unfairly. "Others do exactly the same, but don't even get a warning. Only I get a penalty somehow. That's not fair."
Also towards Motorsport.com the Dutchman is critical. "Other drivers get away with everything, apparently I don't. For my feeling I did nothing wrong." Verstappen can become the first Dutch Formula One world champion in Abu Dhabi. The Red Bull driver has the same number of points as Lewis Hamilton, but has one more victory than the Briton.
Getting to know bad side of Mercedes
Verstappen also criticised Mercedes, when asked if he has come to know Hamilton's team in a different way this season. "Yes, and definitely not in a positive way." Should Hamilton take his eighth title on Sunday, it remains to be seen whether he can also expect congratulations from Verstappen. "If it happens in a fair way, then yes."
