Finally Lewis Hamilton got serious challenge from a driver from another team. The title fight between Hamilton and Max Verstappen is still on after 21 races. Former Hamilton teammate Jenson Button thinks that even Hollywood writers could not have imagined this season.

Button calls F1 season a Hollywood movie

Button is upside down with the current F1 season and the battle between Mercedes driver Hamilton and Red Bull driver Verstappen. Button says in a conversation with DailyMail.com that he recently spoke to someone in the film industry and they said there is no way such a film could be imagined. It's been an insane season, he says, and one that he would never have believed possible: "You just couldn't write a movie like this."

The season was full of spectacle and drama. Verstappen and Hamilton alternated the lead several times, with Verstappen twice increasing his lead to more than thirty points. At the start of the final race in Abu Dhabi, both drivers will now start with an equal points total of 369.5 points.

Button compares the rivalry between the two drivers in 2021 to the rivalry between Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, although the Briton stresses that the crashes between Verstappen and Hamilton were less intentional. The medium further reports that Button tipped his former teammate as the winner of this season's rivalry and champion. The Briton seems confident that the Mercedes driver, alongside whom he drove for three years at McLaren, will win against Verstappen in Abu Dhabi.
