The victory of Max Verstappen in Abu Dhabi does not surprise Philipp Eng. The former DTM driver frequently competed against Max Verstappen in Simracing and discovered all the talent that the Dutchman had.
Eng talks to ServusTV about the title battle between Lewis Hamilton and Verstappen, which the Dutch driver decided in his favour on Sunday afternoon. The Red Bull Racing driver was able to overtake his rival on the last lap. According to Eng the fight for the world championship this season proves how much talent both drivers have.
He knows better than anyone how good Verstappen is when he is pushing himself to the limit. "When you have Max showing off all the sim racing pros who don't actually do anything else, it's a sign that he's a talent of the century," Eng noted in the interview. "It was a really great final."
Eng's career in motorsport
The driver himself also showed in recent years to have many qualities at his disposal. The 31-year-old Eng drove a season in Formula 3 in 2008, after which he could even be found in Formula 2 a year later. At that time he did not get further than the middle of the standings.
