'Leclerc has a termination clause in his contract with Ferrari'
- GPblog.com
Charles Leclerc has plenty of time left at Ferrari. The Monegasque has a contract with the Italian team that runs until 2024, but it is understood that he has inserted a cancellation clause.
Release clause for Leclerc at Ferrari
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, that clause means that Ferrari must finish at least third in the Constructors' Championship by 2022. This year they managed to do so, but given the rigorous rule changes that are planned, it remains to be seen whether this will also be the case next year.
Should that not work out, Leclerc would therefore have an option to rescind his contract. Even if that was the case it's not certain that he would seek a future elsewhere, because for now the 24-year old Monegasque seems to fit in perfectly at Scuderia Ferrari.
