Wolff wants changes in Formula 1: 'They should be pointing that out'

The battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen has been a source of tension for both Red Bull Racing and Mercedes this season. On several occasions, this has been at the expense of respect for the race director, who has had a hard time of it. According to Toto Wolff, this must change in the future, he told The Race.
The German team boss has been guilty of such incidents several times this season. In the last race in Abu Dhabi he couldn't suppress his anger when the race direction decided to let the cars race for one more lap after the yellow flag. As a result, Hamilton lost his world title to Max Verstappen and Wolff went to the race committee after the race.
In the interview, Wolff states that it should no longer be possible to communicate directly with the race control. Instead, he believes teams should only be able to pay attention to moments missed by the stewards. "I think they should be pointing to situations that they might have not spotted, that the race director or his colleagues might have not spotted," Wolff said.
Red Bull also sees change ahead
Christian Horner and Helmut Marko have also been negative about their own behaviour over the last week-and-a-half. Mercedes and Red Bull therefore seem to be willing to avoid arguments with the race direction in the future. It remains to be seen how this will work out in practice.
