De Vries puts world title in perspective: 'In the end, that's what counts'

Nyck de Vries won the 2021 Formula E World Championship. For the Dutchman, it meant eternal fame for his achievement, but he himself is more down-to-earth about it. He tells this in an interview with Ziggo Sport.
The driver emphasised being proud of his achievement. "I think it is especially important that I was able to perform and experience this. Other than that, nothing changes," he emphasises. "Everyone is the same in the end. It's about what you do on a daily basis, what you work towards and what you're doing. In the end, that's what counts."
Although De Vries certainly celebrated last year when he received the main prize, he thinks he should focus mainly on the coming season. After all, that's when he'll be back in Formula E. "It was August last year, so you also just have to look forward again. Of course it sounds great, but I can't stop."
De Vries saw chance in Formula 1 evaporate
The Dutch driver was hoping to have a chance at the spot in Formula 1 in 2022. De Vries was on the list of several teams, but all chose a different driver. It ensures that for him another year in Formula E awaits.
