Formula 1 kicks off in just under two months for the first Grand Prix in Bahrain. Jenson Button can't wait for the new season and states at Good Morning Britain on ITV that he is very much looking forward to seeing Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton at work again.
Both drivers still dominated the world championship last season, with the decision finally falling in Abu Dhabi. The anger at Mercedes was great when Max Verstappen had the opportunity to overtake Hamilton on the last lap of the race and thus take the world title.
Next season, therefore, the title fight will only be fiercer. Moreover, Mercedes and Red Bull Racing must watch out for competition from McLaren. The team seems to be a good contender to fight for the front positions, increasing the pressure on the performance of Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo.
Expectations Formula One season are high
"It was a controversial end to the season but I think you've got to look at the season as a whole," he states. "F1 is in an amazing place, two fantastic drivers going at it every weekend. And I think everyone's excited about the new season."
