De Vries on Formula 1 opportunity: 'Not actively working on it anymore'

Mercedes has an excellent driver under contract with Nyck de Vries who is eager to make a move to Formula 1. For now, the German racing team has no place for him, but he continues to hope for a chance, as he explained in conversation with Laola1.at.
Last season, De Vries enjoyed the title battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Despite enjoying the events of last season he doesn't really speak with Mercedes boss Toto Wolff on the subject.
"We have regular contact. But we didn't talk about Formula 1," said De Vries, who still wants to race in Formula 1. "But I'm not actively working on it anymore. Next year is a new season, let's see what happens. I will do my job as well as I can."
De Vries going well in Formula E
The Dutch driver will start the Formula E season this weekend. The reigning World Champion qualified as the third fastest driver on Friday afternoon for the race scheduled in the evening. His teammate Stoffel Vandoorne will start from pole position.
