Iconic chalet at Eau Rouge/Raidillon makes way for new grandstand

Spa-Francorchamps is currently working on the track to improve the safety and provide more space for the public. The circuit regularly shares new images and today those were photos of the new grandstand.
The biggest changes are taking place in the corners. Run-off lanes will be extended and gravel beds will be placed in some places. These adjustments are being made because of the major accidents that have taken place at the Belgian circuit in recent years. Think of the fatal accident of Anthoine Hubert in 2019, the heavy crash of Lando Norris in qualifying and the terrible crash during the W Series race.
The circuit has now shared images of the new grandstand. It is located at turns three, four and five, namely at the famous Eau Rouge/Raidillon corner combination. The iconic white chalet stood there for a long time, but it has been demolished to make way for the new grandstand. The photos also show that the run-off lane in this corner combination will be larger.
