Ferrari celebrates 75th anniversary and unveils name of new car

Only in a little over two weeks, Scuderia Ferrari will take the curtain off the new car to reveal it to the world. The Italian team has already revealed what the car for the 2022 Formula 1 season will be called; the Ferrari F1-75.
Ferrari celebrates birthday
On the race team's official Instagram page, the team posted a video revealing the new name. The text accompanying the video reads, "It has a name. Be ready to meet our new contender for 2022." The video gives away very little, of course we see the typical vermillion red color of Ferrari. Ferrari always appears at the start in red, but in recent years has alternated with white and black as its second colour. The shades in the video are very dark, though, so it is possible that the Ferrari F1-75 will be dark as well.
With the new name, Ferrari is harking back to a short series of old names of the cars they used in 1986 and 1987. At least it seems that way, as Ferrari drove the Ferrari F1/86 and the Ferrari F1/87 back then. The '75' used this year for the cars of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc probably has to do with the 75th anniversary of the car brand.
