2022 won't be an easy year for drivers: 'Harder to drive'
- GPblog.com
Expectations for the new Formula One season are high, mainly due to the new regulations. Nevertheless, Mattia Binotto has warned the drivers.
The new generation of cars is generating a lot of enthusiasm and cheers, but also a lot of questions. Teams and drivers don't know exactly what to expect. Ferrari team boss Binotto is convinced that drivers must adapt to the new cars. He therefore expects that Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will not always have it easy at the beginning of the year.
Due to the new regulations, the cars are certainly different from last year. Not only do the cars look different, but the aerodynamics will also be different. The car will sometimes be faster and sometimes slower and that requires a different driving style. "The drivers will have to adapt. The cars will be harder to drive," he is quoted at Speedweek, following his statements to Sky Italia.
2021 was a fine year for Ferrari
Ferrari can be satisfied after last season. They finished in third place in the Constructors' Championship with a 48.5 point lead over McLaren. Sainz finished above Leclerc, in fifth place. The Monegasque finished the season in seventh place. The Italian team obviously hopes that they can achieve some great results again in 2022.
