Marko expresses expectations: 'Our main competitor'

Max Verstappen will enter the new season in 2022 as the reigning world champion. The Dutchman will have to deal with the pressure to take another world title, but Helmut Marko doesn't think Verstappen will bring this down. In fact, the advisor is confident that Red Bull Racing will once again stand with the top prize.
Whereas last season Lewis Hamilton was still the biggest contender for the world title, the sentiment has now changed. Verstappen and Red Bull showed in 2021 that they could keep up with Mercedes throughout the season and were creative enough to thwart the German racing team. It ultimately earned Verstappen the world title.
With the new regulations, it remains to be seen for next season. Once again, Red Bull and Mercedes seem to be the favorites to win the world championship, but they must first manage to build a good car. Both teams are confident in the current process, it just remains to be seen how they appear in Bahrain.
Marko has confidence in Red Bull
Marko doesn't expect much to change and for Verstappen to win the world title again. "I think we are on the right track and can fight for the title again," he revealed in an interview with Sport1. "As usual, Mercedes should be our main competitor."
