Magnussen rules out return to Formula 1 under these conditions

Kevin Magnussen will in all likelihood not return to Formula 1. Indeed, the Dane rules out making a comeback if a mid-tier or backmaker team knocks on his door.
At the end of 2020, Magnussen had to leave Formula 1. The Dane had completed six seasons in the sport but was shown the door at Haas. Two rookies had to be brought in who would also bring in a lot more money. Magnussen did not fall into that category and left.
No return of Magnussen
There was no shortage of opportunities for Magnussen, as the former McLaren talent was mentioned as a candidate for Williams, Alfa Romeo and even at an earlier stage AlphaTauri. However, Magnussen turned down these offers and made the move to America. There he drives in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
''For the rest of my career I only want to race with a chance to win. Whatever I do, I'm not going to do anything anymore where I know I can't win,'' Magnussen told Racer. When asked if F1 would sign with a midfield or rearguard team, he is clear: ''No. I've already been there and done that.''
