In 2020 Williams was bought by Dorilton Capital, an investment company from America. They chose a new path within the team. There is finally more money available, the factory is being refurbished and the old methods have been pushed aside. All in the name of a brighter future.
However, George Russell left the Grove-based team to drive for Mercedes in 2022. That team will also supply Williams' engine in 2022. Alexander Albon was brought in as a replacement for Russell. The Thai was sidelined for a year, but did play a crucial role for Red Bull Racing in Max Verstappen's title fight.
