Horner sees more competition for Hamilton: 'Great new talent'

Christian Horner is busy preparing for the new season with Red Bull Racing. The team boss hopes again for a battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, although he thinks other drivers can also get involved in the fight. He tells that in the talkSPORT Breakfast radio show.
Expectations are high heading into the new season. After years of hard work, the Austrian racing team was finally able to put a car on the track in 2021 with which Verstappen could compete with Mercedes. With the strong Honda engine, the Dutchman eventually managed to beat Hamilton and give Red Bull the world title for the first time since 2013.
Horner expects broader competition
This coming season, the two men seem to be evenly matched again. However, Horner does not exclude that Ferrari and McLaren will also offer serious opposition. According to the team boss, Hamilton and Verstappen must therefore take into account broader competition, he revealed in the interview.
"We are just fortunate we have the talent like with Lewis, the most successful guy of all time, with these great youngsters coming through like Max, Lando Norris, George Russell, Charles Leclerc," he lists some of the field of competitors. "There are some great new talent out there."
