Verstappen enjoys driving RB18 but 'Sluggish in slow corners unfortunately'
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen has already completed his first day of testing in Barcelona. The Dutchman drove 147 laps on the track in his RB18 on Wednesday. Verstappen is satisfied with the new cars.
The new regulations were finally introduced in 2022, after being delayed for a year due to the corona pandemic. A lot of changes have been made to the cars, requiring the drivers to get used to a different way of driving.
Red Bull sounded positive after the first day of testing. The team experienced no major problems and drove the second-most miles of the day after Ferrari. During the press conference on Thursday Verstappen talks about his first experience with the new car.
Verstappen is not bothered by anything
"I like driving the new car. The balance in the corners at high speed is very nice. In slow corners, the cars have unfortunately become sluggish due to the ever-increasing weights", the Dutchman is quoted by Auto, Motor und Sport. The singular world champion indicates that the bumpiness on the straights doesn't bother him so much. Mercedes would have more trouble with the bouncing over the track.
