Mazepin comes out with statement in response to current situation

Nikita Mazepin was in action on Friday morning, but around his person it is mostly about peripheral issues rather than the times or the number of laps he managed to drive. The Russian driver is noticing the impact of the fact that his own country Ukraine was invaded this week.
"To my fans and followers - it is a difficult time and I have no control over much of what is said and done. I choose to focus on what I do have control over by working hard and doing my best for my team. My deepest thanks for your understanding and support," Mazepin wrote on his Twitter account.
Possible exit Mazepin
Mazepin's position within the Haas F1 team is also still very unclear. Team boss Guenther Steiner already indicated that it is certainly not a guarantee that the 22-year-old driver will be racing for Haas F1 this season. That has everything to do with the fact that it seems that the American formation is saying goodbye to sponsor Uralkali.
The departure of Uralkali could have major consequences for Mazepin, because this Russian company is his personal sponsor. If the contract with Uralkali is broken, Haas F1 will miss out on the millions that Mazepin brings with him and will no longer have a reason to put Mazepin in the car.
Mazepin steps out
To my fans and followers - it's a difficult time and I am not in control over a lot of what is being said and done. I'm choosing to focus on what I CAN control by working hard and doing my best for my @HaasF1Team . My deepest thanks for your understanding and support.
