Hamilton after test: 'Wondering where we are in the first race'

Lewis Hamilton is about to start his sixteenth Formula One season. The seven-time world champion reveals that 2022 will be one of the most exciting season he has ever started.
Hamilton will have only one goal in 2022: to win that coveted eighth world title. Last season Hamilton thought he could win the world title in Abu Dhabi, until he was overtaken by Max Verstappen on the last lap. Because of the way the race control acted, this was a very controversial moment.
New car and new teammate
In the new season, he will race again with the same goal, although he admits that he is not sure where the team stands at the moment. "It will be interesting to see where everyone comes out and where we stand in the first race," the Mercedes driver is quoted by F1.com. The cars changed quite a bit last winter, due to the new regulations.
In addition to brand new cars, Hamilton also has to reckon with a new teammate in 2022. Valtteri Bottas has left Mercedes after five years and will drive for Alfa Romeo starting this season. Hamilton will have to team up with George Russell in 2022 and the young Briton already showed during testing that he is fast. He finished the last test day second behind Hamilton.
