Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing will continue to work together until 2028. For the Dutchman, it not only provides sporting security, but also financially he is improving considerably. The Times even reports that he has signed the most lucrative contract ever in Formula 1.
The Dutch driver amply proved his qualities last season. Despite a slightly weaker car than Lewis Hamilton, he managed to stay ahead of his rival in the world championship and thus secure his first world title. It was enough for Red Bull to know that it had to do everything it could to keep Verstappen.
During the last two months, Verstappen and Red Bull talked to each other frequently in order to establish a new deal. Since Verstappen expressed on several occasions that he was eager to stay with his team, there seemed to be little in the way of continuing with each other. Nevertheless, he did manage to negotiate a sky-high salary.
Verstappen receives a high amount
Reportedly, Verstappen is going to earn around 40 million pounds per year, which converts to around 50 million euros. It means that the Dutchman will bring in between 200 and 250 million euros in five years. This will also leave him behind his competitors in financial terms.
