Verstappen-Red Bull deal big birthday present for Jos Verstappen!
- GPblog.com
One of the greatest Dutch F1 drivers (before his own son became active in F1) has his birthday today. Jos Verstappen turns fifty years old today; just a day after the huge deal Max Verstappen made with Red Bull Racing.
Verstappen has turned fifty
Jos Verstappen who drove his first F1 race in Brazil in 1994 and his last in Japan in 2003, has his birthday today. At the age of 21, the Dutchman entered the premier class of motor racing and left again at 31. In the nineteen years that followed, he devoted himself to training his son. They were not wasted years, because Verstappen senior is now fifty years old and his son is a world champion in Formula 1.
With 107 GPs behind his name and two podium finishes in Formula 1, Jos Verstappen was always the greatest Dutch F1 driver. Max Verstappen quickly passed the status of Verstappen senior partly due to his father's training. A day before his father's birthday, the news came out that the young Red Bull driver has signed a contract with the team through 2028. With his salary, the driver may become the best paid Dutch athlete ever; also a nice present for his father's 50th birthday. At Verstappen.com it says that Jos celebrates his birthday today in the presence of family and friends.
