Haas confirms delay: 'Fittipaldi not in action until Thursday afternoon'

Haas confirms that there have been delays and that this may be at the expense of the first day of testing in Bahrain. However, the team hopes to be in action with Pietro Fittipaldi on Thursday afternoon.
Delay for Haas
On Monday it already came out that the Haas car had not yet arrived at the circuit. The cargo plane that was supposed to fly the parts from Doncaster to Bahrein, was stranded in Istanbul before it could collect the parts in Doncaster. With a detour Haas now received the parts in Bahrain.
However, the gear arrived a day late and with the tight schedules this has consequences for the test in Bahrain. Haas announces on its own Twitter account that there is indeed a delay that has an impact on the test program. However, the team hopes to still be in action on Thursday afternoon, losing only one morning.
The team's freight arrived late last night to the circuit in Bahrain.

This delay will impact our programme but we are targeting being out on track for the second session Thursday afternoon with @PiFitti driving the VF-22.#HaasF1 pic.twitter.com/Zppbjbkn8a
Haas under pressure
Fittipaldi is the driver who will be in action for Haas on Thursday afternoon. The Brazilian was mentioned as a possible successor to Nikita Mazepin, but Gene Haas itself indicated that the team is looking for more experience. As a result, Nico Hulkenberg, Kevin Magnussen and Antonio Giovinazzi came into the picture.
For Haas, it is to be hoped that they can come into action on Thursday afternoon, because the first test week in Barcelona was not flawless either. Back then the team made the least laps (160) of all and there was also much commotion about the removal of Uralkali as sponsor. With still no replacement for Mazepin, Haas will also be under pressure this test week.
