'Collaboration between Audi and Formula 1 a step closer'
- GPblog.com
Formula 1 teams are facing major rule changes this season. However, with the new engine rules coming into effect in 2026, they have a lot to look forward to. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Audi seems to be increasingly considering entering Formula One.
Under current regulations, engine suppliers lose a lot of money when they partner with a team, but those finances will look different in 2026. As a result, Audi would now find it interesting enough to find out if a collaboration with a Formula 1 team is possible in the future.
According to Marshall Pruett, that collaboration is getting closer and closer. "Spoke to three smart people in the last 48 hours who told me that they have heard that Audi has scrapped its LMDh plans and will put the budget and human resources into the much-vaunted F1 program," the journalist revealed on Twitter.
