Sainz impressed: 'Verstappen made few mistakes'

Ferrari is preparing for the first race weekend in Bahrain. In the preseason, the Italian racing team left a very positive impression, but Carlos Sainz saw that the competition was far from idle.
Due to the new regulations, almost all teams are searching for the ideal setups this season. Ferrari did well during the first test days in Barcelona and maintained this level in Bahrain, where again three test days were on the program. It makes that the expectations of the general public are high.
However, Sainz believes it is important to look at the situation objectively. Although the Bahrain Grand Prix seems to come too soon for McLaren and Mercedes, it is clear that Red Bull Racing is also in good shape. Ferrari can therefore expect a lot of opposition from the Austrian racing team.
Sainz fears for Verstappen's qualities
The Spanish driver saw during the winter tests that Max Verstappen has returned from his vacation in good shape. Sainz therefore thinks that the Dutchman is keen to take the win immediately. "I saw a lot of data and he looked very strong. Max made few mistakes, he seems confident," Sainz analyzed in conversation with Sky Italia.
