Lewis Hamilton managed to reach the podium at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Where the Briton was in fifth place for a long time, he benefited from the dropouts of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. It caused him satisfaction afterwards in conversation with Sky Sports .
During the test days in Barcelona and Bahrain it was already clear that Mercedes was struggling against Red Bull Racing and Ferrari. The German team simply lacked speed, making it virtually impossible for Lewis Hamilton and George Russell to fight for the front places.
Hamilton has faith in team
This was evident during the Bahrain GP. Hamilton and Russell started from fifth and ninth position respectively and did not manage to attack the top three for a long time. However, when Verstappen and Perez had to drop out with engine problems, Hamilton was suddenly offered the third spot on a silver platter. He took advantage of the opportunity.
"It's good to see Ferrari doing well again. They are such a historic team," began Hamilton, who then expressed his confidence towards his team. "I know the guys are working very hard at the factory. It won't be quick, but I definitely feel like we've been the best team for so long. Just keep your head up and keep working."
