Will this series of poles come to an end for Hamilton in Australia?
- GPblog.com
The introduction of the hybrid era marked the beginning of a long dominant period for Mercedes. As a result, Lewis Hamilton has quite a few records to his name with the team. For now, Mercedes' dominance seems to be a thing of the past, as well as an interesting statistic in Hamilton's name.
Series of pole positions likely to come to an end for Hamilton
Since the beginning of the hybrid era, the Briton has managed to take pole position for the Australian Grand Prix every year so far. The past two years Formula 1 did not visit Melbourne due to corona measures, but on April 10 the premier class of motor racing returns to the Albert Park circuit.
The scenario in which Hamilton will once again start from the first place on the grid seems further away than ever. Mercedes is struggling with considerable problems and has not yet found a solution. If the team wants to trump Ferrari and Red Bull Racing for the pole, it will probably need a miracle.
