Crash for Vettel brings early end to his Australian GP
- GPblog.com
Sebastian Vettel has once again failed to finish a Grand Prix. Where he was absent the last two races due to infection by the coronavirus, he crashed hard into the wall during the GP of Australia.
The German is not having a very happy season with Aston Martin, as became apparent in Australia. The driver lost grip on his car at about the halfway point of the race and spun on the track, whereupon he hit the wall with the front of his car hard. It caused Vettel to get out of his car.
As a result, race control had to send a safety car onto the track for the first time in the GP. Vettel's crash caused a lot of loose parts on the asphalt. After two laps the safety car came back in, after which the drivers could continue the race.

Sainz spins after a few laps
Vettel is not the first driver who had to pull over early. Carlos Sainz made a mistake after just a few laps. The Spaniard spun on the track and was lucky not to hit any other cars. He then ended up in the gravel and got out of his car.
