Fernando Alonso still feels that he can be of value in Formula 1. The Spaniard therefore plans to continue for a maximum of three years before handing over to the younger generation. He does not exclude the possibility that he will switch to another team.

The two-time world champion has had a rich career in motor racing. Last season he returned to Formula 1 to play for Alpine. In 2021, he made an excellent impression and showed his teammate Esteban Ocon that he still has a high level of performance.

Alonso isn't thinking about quitting yet

At 40 years old, Alonso is one of the older drivers in Formula 1. The moment that he will say goodbye to the motorsport class is therefore coming closer and closer. However, the Madrile-born is not planning to say goodbye after this season already, he told The Race in an interview .

"I still feel competitive and fast and I feel that I’m enjoying Formula 1," Alonso revealed. "I feel like I'm enjoying Formula 1. So we’ll race, I guess, a couple more years – two or three more years. And if it’s with Alpine, it will be good, if it’s with another team, it will be good as well."
