Perez comes out with clear statement towards FIA
- GPblog.com
Sergio Perez still has the enthusiasm to prove himself in Formula 1. However, when the FIA chooses to add many more races to the season in the future, he will consider quitting. He tells this in an interview with The Athletic.
Partly due to last calendar year's championship battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, Formula 1 is very popular worldwide. Several countries would therefore like to be added to the racing calendar, although the question is how far the FIA is willing to go.
With 23 races this season, the motorsport class has the most Grands Prix ever. The FIA does not seem to want to stop in the coming years, as the South African GP, among others, is also a possibility. It is therefore not out of the question that Formula 1 breaks its record next season.
Perez sets limits towards FIA
Perez has already noticed that the busy schedule has a great impact on his life and therefore sets limits to the plans for Formula 1. According to the Mexican, he already does not have enough time to devote to his family. Therefore, he does not rule out quitting the sport if the current trend continues.
