Red Bull Racing was able to cheer during the sprint race on Saturday night. Despite a poor start by Max Verstappen, he managed to walk away with the victory in Imola. However, it is not enough for Helmut Marko, as he announced in an interview with the German Bild.
Due to technical problems, Verstappen had to pull his car to the side of the road during two of the three Grands Prix. This has left him far behind Charles Leclerc, which he does not seem to be able to make up easily.
However, with twenty races still to go, the reigning world champion still has plenty of time to revenge himself, Marko also knows. The Red Bull advisor was very satisfied with the victory in the sprint race but hopes to secure more points for the standings for the rest of the weekend.
Marko hopes victory for Verstappen
According to Marko, therefore, only victory counts on Sunday afternoon. "We have the more balanced car compared to Ferrari," he judges. "A double victory is the goal. We have more than a few points to make up in the championship standings." Verstappen will start from pole position in the race, with Leclerc and Sergio Perez following close behind.
