Sebastian Vettel hoped with his move to Aston Martin to compete at the front of the driver field in the future. The opposite is true for the time being. Vettel has not yet driven in the points this season and looks unhappy with his current role. Mike Krack, therefore, knows that there is work to be done, as he told during the FIA press conference.

With Vettel in its ranks, Aston Martin hoped to make great strides in 2021. This calendar year's new regulations were supposed to help the racing stable establish itself among the sub-top teams, but for now, the team is struggling big time to keep up with the level.

Krack understands attitude of Vettel

In fact, Aston Martin's car appears not to be competitive enough, so the formation has to work hard to get into the points. It means that Vettel has to fight with the rear drivers. The four-time world champion has already indicated in the media that he is not happy with the current situation. Krack knows that something, therefore, has to happen to keep Vettel in the coming years.

"If you have a driver like Sebastian Vettel, that you can keep motivated by giving him the car that deserves the quality of his driving, I think you would be foolish not to try to retain him," the team boss stated. "But I 100% understand his comments. He wants to see progress, he wants to see the car moving forward."
