After the Emelia Romagna Grand Prix, Mercedes seem to have had their wost weekend yet. Despite finishing 4th, George Russell is anything but satisfied with where the Silver Arrows sit, with teammate Lewis Hamilton finishing 13th.

A great performance from George Russell in Imola saw the Mercedes driver jump from 11th on the grid to 4th at the end of the race. It was another display of talent from the Brit, but no matter how well he drives, the issues with the Mercedes car will always hold him back.

"We have got to be pleased with the fact that we are getting the best result possible week in and week out whether we are getting the best out of the car is a different story," Russell spoke to Sky after the checkered flag fell.

Russell dives deeper into Mercedes issues

After a podium in Bahrain and in Australia, the Mercedes' performance seems to be extremely volatile, either clear of the midfield, or stuck at the back of the pack. Russell's teammate, Lewis Hamilton, suffered throughout this Grand Prix, eventually finishing a lowly 14th.

"We have these overall limitations with the bouncing and we know that but equally we are struggling with tyre warm up. This has been the coldest race weekend by far this year and its been a bit of a trend. We progressed in Bahrain but got slower in Qualifying." The Brit explained.

"I think that is because Bahrain was at it's hottest and rough. So, there is no problem with tyre warm up then we went to Jeddah it was still hot but the track was smoother and Melbourne a bit cooler. Here it was very cold and that is where you see the McLaren, Alpines, Haas coming into there own but struggling in the race. We need to find a better compromise we had a strong result but we were start far too low on the grid."
