Ferrari: "Without that problem he might have been able to overtake Perez"

Ferrari looks back on the Imola Grand Prix in disappointment. The Italian formation was again hoping to get at least one podium finish, but failed to do so. According to Mattia Binotto, however, Ferrari had to deal with the bad luck factor.
Carlos Sainz did not get beyond the first lap, as after a collision with Daniel Ricciardo he was unable to drive his car away. Therefore, all Ferrari's hopes were pinned on Charles Leclerc, but he too failed to rise above himself.
Binotto saw Ferrari having little luck
The Monegasque remained in third place behind Sergio Perez for a long time, unable to get close to Max Verstappen. At the end of the race, Leclerc also made a mistake by spinning. It caused him to even have to settle for fewer points.
"Many small things prevented us from getting more out of it," Binotto stated in conversation with Corriere.it. "Then it's about the bad luck of Sainz's crash and Leclerc's not perfect pit stop. Without that problem he might have been able to overtake Perez. They were faster than us, but second place was within our reach."
