'That proves Mercedes has problems with the engine as well as the chassis'

In Imola it appeared that Mercedes has all but solved the problems it is facing. While George Russell managed to get a reasonable result out of it with a fourth place, Lewis Hamilton had to settle for thirteenth. According to Emerson Fittipaldi that does not mean that Russell is definitively better than his new teammate.
The two-time world champion therefore does not think that Hamilton has given up hope already. He does, however, find it "interesting" to see Russell driving for him. "At the beginning of the year Lewis came from the back and made very good results. Also better than George Russell," Fittipaldi clarified to VegasInsider.com.
Fittipaldi still believes in Mercedes
The Brazilian therefore thinks that the potential is definitely still there, but that the conditions of the weekend in Imola were simply against the Mercedes driver. "He will be back strong," assures the former Formula One driver.
According to Fittipaldi, the biggest problems at Mercedes are not related to the engine, as occasionally suggested. He emphasizes that Mercedes and McLaren are both running with the same engine, but that McLaren is much faster than Mercedes. "That means it’s not the engine, but also the chassis. There's something there to be improved, for sure," said Fittipaldi.
