Horner compares current title fight to fight with Mercedes
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing is part of the title race for the second year in a row this season. Whereas last season Lewis Hamilton was the direct competitor, this race year it is Charles Leclerc who must make things difficult for Max Verstappen. Christian Horner sees an important difference in this regard, he tells Motorsport.com.
The fight between Mercedes and Red Bull last season was at times fierce. Both teams did everything in their power to win the world championship and therefore pushed the boundaries of the rules in Formula 1, both on and off the track.
For now, the atmosphere is completely different this season. Leclerc and Verstappen already know each other well from the karting world and are therefore used to fighting for the world title with each other. Although both men are completely in it for the win on the track, they do seem to respect each other.
Horner sees sincerity in Verstappen and Leclerc
Horner says in the interview that he expects this atmosphere to be present for the rest of the season because it is sincere. At the same time, he expects Ferrari to be a major competitor in 2022, so Red Bull will not have time to relax. He expects the Italians to come out strong in Miami.
