'Hamilton is at his most dangerous with his back against the wall'

Lewis Hamilton has begun his worst F1 season start since 2009. After four Grands Prix, the tally stands at 28 points and only one podium. Precisely because of the difficult start, Mark Webber thinks the Briton is more dangerous than ever before.
No eighth world title
After Hamilton finished third in Bahrain with some luck, the Briton has not seen the podium again in 2022. In Imola, Hamilton got stuck behind Pierre Gasly 's AlphaTauri and finished only thirteenth. This while teammate George Russell managed to finish every GP still within the top five in 2022.
The Mercedes W13 underperformed, allowing Hamilton to forget about a record-breaking eighth world title in his own words. Despite the negative start, Webber thinks the seven-time world champion's season is far from a bad start.
Start of Hamilton not so bad
"I think people are being pretty harsh, pretty fast on Lewis. In Bahrain he drove brilliantly to third place," Webber is quoted by the Daily Star. Then the Australian points to safety car incidents which had a negative impact on Hamilton's races in Saudi Arabia and Australia.
Webber continued by saying that Russell is a brilliant driver at Mercedes, but he expects Hamilton to come back strong. "Lewis is at his most dangerous with his back against the wall. He’s never short of motivation – that’s why he’s probably the greatest of all time."
