Leclerc sees major competitor next to Red Bull: 'Strong team'
- GPblog.com
Charles Leclerc fought alongside Max Verstappen for victories in the first four races. However, the Monegasque does not expect this to be the case for the entire season, as he is keeping his ears and eyes open for another competitor.
For seasons Ferrari failed to fight for the lead in the world championship, but this calendar year the Italian racing team seems to have things well in hand. From the winter tests in Barcelona and Bahrain, Ferrari already performed excellently and the team managed to take that good form to the season start.
Leclerc knows Mercedes' strengths
With two victories for Verstappen and two wins for Leclerc, both drivers seem to be pretty evenly matched. However, the latter driver thinks that in the course of the season it will not only be between them. According to Leclerc, Mercedes also has everything it takes to take victories towards the autumn.
"I never write them off because they are such a strong team and they've showed it in the past, but it is also true that they are struggling since the beginning of the season," Leclerc stated in a conversation with CNN. "They seem to have quite big issues that will require a bit of time before they fix them."
