Horner on Perez: 'He started off strong in qualifying'

Red Bull Racing was hoping to continue the strong line from Imola prior to the Miami Grand Prix but failed to do so for the time being. Ferrari grabbed the first two times, leaving the Austrians to try and catch up with their competitors on Sunday. Christian Horner, however, is confident of doing so, he told Viaplay.
Both teams battled hard for pole position again in qualifying. Three times Charles Leclerc managed to record the fastest time, driving convincingly to pole position. The third and fourth places for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez felt like a disappointment at Red Bull, but Horner is sure his drivers will come back strong.
"Sergio started strongly in qualifying. I think the track conditions became difficult for him," judged the team boss, who is confident for the race. "We have a fast car and I think we will be stronger in the race than in qualifying."
Verstappen makes mistake in qualifying
Verstappen made a mistake on his final flying lap on Saturday night, forcing him to settle for P3. After the race, he indicated that he is still looking for the limit. In Sunday's race he hopes to do a lot better.
