Charles Leclerc had to lose out to Max Verstappen at the Miami Grand Prix, who had killer pace with his RB18. After the race, the Ferrari driver stressed the importance for Ferrari to come up with an answer in the form of upgrades.
With those upgrades, the Italian racing team seems to be working hard, because on Friday it worked an unannounced film day at the Monza circuit. Presumably the necessary data was collected here for the updates that the team wants to use in Barcelona.
Leclerc wants Ferrari to come up with answer to Red Bull
After finishing second in Miami, there seemed to be some disappointment at Ferrari, which had hoped for more after securing the front row of the grid. Instead, Leclerc saw his lead in the standings shrink further, after Verstappen had already taken a big bite out of it in Imola.
The Monegasque stressed after the race that there was a clear improvement in the Red Bull Racing cars after the Austrian stable came up with updates at Imola. "They are a very strong team and we know that. So it's not a surprise," Leclerc said according to Nextgen-Auto.com.
He stressed the importance for Ferrari to come up with an answer to the faster-looking Red Bull, but added he is not worried that they will succeed. "I have confidence in my team and I am sure that there will be improvements in Barcelona that will put us back in the lead," the Ferrari driver concluded.
