Before qualifying starts in the afternoon on Saturday, we first have a third free practice session to finish. All drivers will get another hour to find the right setup and fix the last problems. For Red Bull Racing, FP3 will be all about finding speed over one lap, while Ferrari will want to make strides in the long runs.

The third free practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix will start at 12:00 UK time. During the first 45 minutes the teams will test different set-ups to find an optimal balance. The last fifteen minutes will be dedicated to the qualifying runs. Then we will be presented with a realistic picture of the proportions.

Ferrari and Red Bull each have their own strong point

Ferrari seems to have the best chances in advance to grab the pole position. Charles Leclerc was twice the fastest man in Friday practice with a lead of just over three tenths. However, at Red Bull they are confident that they will be a lot closer on Saturday. According to Helmut Marko, the RB18 lost the complete three tenths in just two corners.

In the longruns, Max Verstappen was by far the fastest in the second practice session. The men from Ferrari conceded an average of six tenths per lap, which is logically far too much if it wants to have a chance at victory. However, Charles Leclerc is not worried about the situation and thinks his Italian team can come out on top.

So there is still plenty to improve for the teams and so it promises to be an interesting third and final practice session. Follow the driver's exploits on the asphalt here in our live blog.
