Sainz hopes to move forward from P3: 'Anything is possible on Sunday'

Carlos Sainz will start from P3 for the Spanish Grand Prix. The Spaniard again finished behind teammate Charles Leclerc and rival Max Verstappen. Nevertheless, the local hero expects that a lot can happen during the race on Sunday.
"It has been a tough weekend so far. The conditions have not been the easiest with the heat and the wind. Today we put in a good lap so we can fight from third place tomorrow," Sainz said after the race.
The Spaniard will want to set a good result during his home race after all the bad luck of the past few races. During Q2 of qualifying Ferrari went out on used tires, but Sainz did not manage to set a good time. Therefore he will have to start the race on a used set of tires. Leclerc does have an advantage with a new set of tires.
Managing tires important in Spain
"I think tire management will be the key and see if we can get a good start. From there we will go on. I think tomorrow anything is possible. We are going to do our best to get to the front at the start and lead from there. It wasn't an ideal qualifying, because I couldn't set a decent time on the used tires, so we'll be missing the new tires for the first stint tomorrow," said the Spaniard.
